One of my favourite things to do while travelling is to check out the work of local artisans. It’s fascinating to explore new creative communities of skilled artists and listen to their stories. Sadly, it wasn’t me globetrotting this time. My husband just returned from his first ever trip to India and it was very memorable for him. He brought back these perfectly-sweet little bowls he purchased on a stopover in Turkey. I love how intricately painted they are. They are the perfect size for holding jewelry or clips and tacks on a desk. I wouldn’t recommend using these bowls for food use because they may contain lead. Anytime there is uncertainty about whether or not something is food safe, I prefer to err on the side of caution.
Aren’t they so colourful and fun? What are some of your favourite things to purchase on your travels?
